February 13th, 2001 a sandwich board outside the shop read Westdale Barber Shop “under new management”. After a couple days I scratched off the under new management part and left it as Westdale Barber Shop. A big part of me was uncomfortable with any sort of attention and I preferred to be the new barber instead of the new manager. For years many customers that frequented the shop didn’t know I owned the business and that was fine with me because it didn’t matter. What matters is the Barber Shop and its customers. 25 years later at age 47 my plan is to stick around as the barber and perhaps shed some light on the past and present of the real history of Westdale Barber Shop.
